Did you
know...?
Lower
back pain is one of the most common forms of back pain, hitting
at least four out of five adults and is one of the most common
reasons for visits to the doctor.
The pain
associated with a lower back problem can be quite painful,
however, the pain doesn't indicate how bad or severe the damage
to your lower back is. You can have one form of lower back
pain that will make it hard to walk or could cause you to
double over in pain, while you may have a completely other
lower back pain problem that you didn't even realise you had
because there was no pain.
It should
also be noted that lower back pain could be related to another
illness not normally associated with your back pain at all.
Other illnesses that will cause lower back pain are kidney
stones or a kidney infection which will cause lower back pain
but isn't related to you doing any physical damage to your
back.
Probably
the most common cause of lower back pain is arthritis. This
becomes quite common starting at the early age of 40. Typically
lower back pain can be tied to a general causes like, muscle
strain from lifting, perhaps lifting the wrong way. It could
also be linked to a herniated disc. The main thing to do is
visit your family doctor and get diagnosed properly. Lower
back pain can usually be cleared up with time, some pain medications
and depending, perhaps a visit to a chiropractor or physical
therapist.
